What is post-digital?

by drm on September 22, 2009

Let’s suppose that in 2005 I told you that you would be carrying around a device that fit in the palm of your hand that would be your phone, would allow you to surf the web as quickly as on your desktop, would manage your e-mail, would send text messages, would take photos and videos, would let you play games, would have all your favorite songs on it, would let you watch movies…and it wouldn’t require an instruction manual.

That’s what I mean by post-digital.

The web has moved to a post-digital experience. That means it isn’t about the technology; it’s about the behavior. The media franchises of the future will adapt and conform to consumer behavior in a post-digital networked environment.
